Michael B. Solovay is a Senior Advisor and Interim General Counsel at Ocean Road Advisors, Inc. He practiced law for 28 years starting in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Skadden Arps. He was later a Principal Shareholder and Co-Chairman of the New York Corporate Department at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, one of the 10 largest law firms in the United States.
For 7 years following his legal career, Michael was a Managing Director at JPMorgan, where he initially focused on technology transactions and partnerships. He later was a member of the Strategic Investments team, the Bank’s principal venture investment arm.
After leaving JPMorgan in 2019, Michael served as a business and legal advisor to leadership teams at companies involved in mortgage trading, executive search, medical information technology, venture capital, collector car insurance and cannabis growing.
Over his career, he also served as a director of companies involved in, among others, the banking, home health care and charitable giving industries.
Michael is also a named inventor on 3 issued US patents.
He is a graduate of Columbia Law School (JD) and Yale College (BA, Architecture). In his Senior year at Yale, he was Captain of the Yale Squash Team and named to the All-American Team. He was also a nationally ranked junior tennis player.
Michael is married with two adult children (so they say).
